Adult smoking decreases across the UK in 2019

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has reported a drop in the prevalence of current smoking in the UK, from 14.7% in 2018 to 14.1% in 2019. Adults aged between 25 and 34 years old had the highest prevalence of smoking at 19.0%. In England, more than half of adult smokers surveyed said they wanted to quit.
