Almost 15% of cigarettes sold in Ireland are contraband

According to a report published by Ireland’s Revenue Commissioners, almost 15% of all cigarettes sold in Ireland are illegal. The Commissioners said that the widespread use of contraband tobacco could be costing the state more than 200m ($224m) in lost tax revenue, as well as posing a public health risk.
