COVID-19 related global drug shortages increase price

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has reported that a global shortage of illicit drugs has caused some people who use drugs to switch substances and some to access drug treatment services for the first time. Air travel restrictions that were put in place to address the COVID-19 pandemic have disrupted supply lines, resulting in increased prices and lower levels of purity across the illicit drug market.
