Sudan partially lifts alcohol ban

Sudan’s justice minister Nasredeem Abdulbari has announced that Sudan will abolish laws prohibiting alcohol consumption by non-Muslims. The move is part of wider efforts to broaden personal freedoms in Sudan and to move away from religion-based legal restrictions that were introduced by the former President Omar al-Bashir. Under the new rules, Christians in Sudan will be allowed to import and consume alcohol.
